Home Repair: Helping Our Neighbors Feel Safe at Home

At Proclaiming Grace Outreach, we believe everyone deserves a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained place to call home. Through our Home Repair Program, we are blessed to help local homeowners with essential repairs that can make a meaningful difference in their everyday lives.

Recently, our Home Repair team had the opportunity to complete projects for three local homeowners: Mrs. Addie Brandon, Mrs. Jane Burrell, and Mrs. Sonia Fleming.

A New Roof for Mrs. Addie Brandon

Mrs. Brandon’s roof had become damaged and was allowing water to leak into her home. With the help of our Home Repair Program, we were able to replace the roof and help protect her home from further damage.

Half of the roof replacement was paid for by her insurance company, while our program helped cover the remaining cost. We are grateful to be able to come alongside homeowners when unexpected necessary repairs become difficult to manage.

Making Mrs. Jane Burrell’s Home Safer

Our second project focused on several repairs and improvements to Mrs. Burrell’s home.

The project included sheetrock repairs in one of the bedrooms, replacing and painting doors, replacing three boards on the rear deck, and replacing the treads on the rear stairs. We also installed a handrail on the front steps, helping make the entrance to her home safer and easier to use.

These improvements may seem simple, but they can make a home safer, more functional, and more comfortable for the person who lives there.

Helping Mrs. Sonia Fleming

Our third project for Mrs. Sonia Fleming included replacing a broken window and completing some touch-up drywall work just inside the front door.

Even smaller repairs can have a big impact. Taking care of damaged areas helps keep a home in better condition and gives homeowners peace of mind knowing that necessary repairs are being addressed.
