Grace Table Food Pantry Opens Its Doors to the Community
August was a month of celebration for Proclaiming Grace Outreach as we marked two unforgettable milestones for the new Grace Table Food Pantry.
On August 18, community leaders, donors, volunteers, churches, and supporters gathered for a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the completion of the new facility. It was a joyful afternoon filled with gratitude as we reflected on the many people whose prayers, generosity, and hard work made this dream a reality.
The following day, August 19—Jenna Grace King's birthday—the Grace Table Food Pantry officially opened to serve families in need. There could be no more meaningful way to honor Jenna's legacy than by opening this new, more accessible loctation with expanded hours dedicated to providing Food. Hope. Community. Grace.
The Grace Table Food Pantry is now welcoming guests at:
18119 New Kent Highway, Barhamsville, VA 23011
Pantry Hours
Guests are welcome - twice each month - during the following hours:
Tuesdays: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Wednesdays: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Thursdays: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
A Grocery Store Experience
The Grace Table Food Pantry was designed to create a positive and respectful experience for every guest. Rather than receiving pre-packed bags, guests are able to shop and select many of the items that best fit their household's needs.
Upon arrival, guests check in at the reception area, complete a brief intake process, and then shop throughout the pantry. Volunteers are available to assist every step of the way. Guests may shop up to two times per month, which helps families access food assistance on a regular basis while ensuring resources remain available throughout the community.
First-time guests should bring proof of residency, such as a bill mailed to their home, along with photo identification. Families living in the same household can be accommodated, and additional household members may be included with proper documentation. Guests should bring their FeedMore ID Card when they return for future visits.
Everyone receives food the first time, no matter what!
Thank You for Making This Possible - We Still Need You!
The opening of the Grace Table Food Pantry represents years of planning, fundraising, prayer, and community support. Every donor, volunteer, church partner, business sponsor, and supporter played a role in making this vision become reality.
While we are thrilled that the doors are now open and families are being served, our work is not finished! We continue to pay down the remaining building debt so that even more resources can be directed toward helping neighbors in need, and we continue to need volunteers throughout each week to make preparations and serve our guests.
If you would like to support the ministry of the Grace Table Food Pantry, please consider making a donation and registering as a volunteer. Together, we can ensure that this new facility continues to provide food, hope, community, and grace for generations to come.
Thank you for being part of our community and helping us share the love of Jesus in practical ways every day.
