Food Pantry

Purpose
There is growing need in our community for those struggling to provide for themselves and their families.
Open since July of 2009, we serve families living slightly above and below the poverty lines. We also provide food to families and individuals who have lost their jobs, are seasonally employed, or need assistance during these times of hardship.
Hours of Operation & Location
The Pantry is open every Tuesday from 10 AM to 2 PM, Wednesday from 4 PM to 7 PM, and Thursday from 12 PM to 4 PM (Patrons can be served twice each month).
We serve individuals and families in all of New Kent County and upper James City County who are experiencing food insecurity. Our clients are able to come inside the pantry, grab a cart and “shop” for the items that best suit their needs. We offer canned goods, boxed food items, meats, paper products, cleaning supplies, limited hygiene products, and fresh produce, when available.
All first-time visitors are asked to complete a brief application so we can better understand needs and continue serving our community well. Everyone who comes will receive food on their first visit, regardless of where they live. For subsequent visits, clients are required to provide proof of residency to confirm they live within our service area (e.g., a bill mailed to their home that includes their name) and they should bring the FeedMore ID Card we issue to them. If living outside our service area, we work to refer the client to a food pantry operation in their area for the future.
We are currently located at 18119 New Kent Highway, Barhamsville, VA 23011.
