Our Programs
Proclaiming Grace Outreach helps those in need with a variety of small home repairs such as handicap ramps, floor, plumbing, electrical, and roof repairs. Projects are limited to necessary repairs (nothing cosmetic). An application, that is open only to home owners is required and you may call (757) 741-5070 to apply by phone. Please leave a message and your call will be returned within a few days.
The doors of our pantry open on the first and third Friday of each month (and by appointment). We offer not only canned goods, boxed food items, and meats, but we also offer paper products and cleaning supplies. As available, we offer fresh produce and pet foods. Grace Village Thrift is open each Saturday 8 am to 4 pm (with the exception of the first Saturday in August and the last two Saturdays in December) . We offer affordable prices on a range of items including, but not limited to, clothing, linens, toys, kitchenware, household decorative items, furniture, electronics, tools and outdoor items.
We partner with Bridges of Change, our local social services, and those who have been displaced by fire, domestic violence or whatever else the case may be.
Have donations? Grace Village Thrift has been totally sustained on donations from the community since 2010. Donations can be dropped off any day EXCEPT THURSDAY. Staff is on hand to help unload vehicles on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. If you come at another time, you are free to leave donations under the covered carport/zippered tent area. We do give donation receipts for tax purposes and they can be requested onsite or by calling (757) 741-5070.

** NOTE: Please be aware that if items are too heavy for our volunteers to handle, it may not be possible to take them.**
This program works with students at both New Kent and Stone House Elementary Schools to offer food to sustain students through the weekend. Proclaiming Grace Outreach provides food for the New Kent School in conjunction with the following local churches and civic organizations:
LaSertoma (Bottom of the Bridge)
Liberty Baptist Church - Lanexa
Corinth Baptist Church - New Kent
This program was put on hiatus during Covid-19 as schools were providing more and additional food during this time. We will provide an update when our program resumes.
Once people have nutritious food and comfortable homes...What happens when the vehicle breaks down? This is a life altering event for many. Our GO! program provides car repairs to those in need. There is an application process that requires the car to be the sole car for the family as well as the vehicle that transports to and from work, school or medical appointments.
